Middle School and High School GSA Mini Grant
2024/2025 Academic Year Application

Niagara Pride, Inc. is excited to announce that for the 2024/2025 academic year, it will be offering mini grants to middle school and high school GSAs across WNY Counties to advance local community efforts to address and prevent bullying of LGBTQ+ youth. Mini grant funds are intended to support GSA clubs in designing and carrying out a project in their school and/or community to achieve this goal. Niagara Pride, Inc. will award up to twenty (20) GSA Mini Grants ranging from $250 to $500 per award.

Deadlines:

  • Applications will be available starting December 1, 2024.

  • This is a rolling grant that will be available throughout the school year, with the last grant being issued on or before April 30, 2024, or when the available funds have been distributed.

  • Winners will be selected and notified via email and letter on a monthly basis.

Requirements:

  • Grant funding is to be used to develop educational programming that affirms LGBTQ+ students and helps create a more diverse and inclusive environment at the school.

  • Examples of possible projects include but are not limited to: inviting an LGBTQ+ guest speaker to address the student body; purchasing LGBTQ+ affirming books for the school library; creating a permanent display at the school for LGBTQ+ awareness; creating a social event for LGBTQ+ youth and allies; etc.

  • Grant awards will be paid in the form a check directly to the school to be used for the funding of the program/project outlined in the application and not directly to individuals (neither teachers, club advisors, nor members of the GSA).

  • Only one (1) Mini Grant will be provided to a school within a given year. Grant recipients are welcome to re-apply the following year to develop new programming at their school.

  • Grant recipients will also need to sign a release of information so that Niagara Pride can include winners in a press release as well as use photos from programs created as a result of the grant on our website and/or our social media.
